The Climate Coalition and the Low Carbon Communities Network

Some may know about the Transition Network (http://www.transitionnetwork.org and http://www.transitionnetwork.org/forum) but I had never heard about the Low Carbon Communities Network until last week while collecting a fab seed donation from HadLowcarbon.

The Climate Coalition and the Low Carbon Communities Network (LCCN)

are holding a major free conference in London over the weekend of March 28th / 29th 2015.

Book your place now HERE
http://localaction.co/

We invite you to help shape this event and to take part.

The next year will be a critical one for work on climate change. The general election and the UN Paris conference will be key events, while issues round divestment, fracking, and renewable energy will also be focal points for action. Action at a local level will be an essential part of this work.

There will be speakers (see the Agenda) from national NGOs including the Climate Coalition, Friends of the Earth, 350.org, CAFOD, Share Action and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation as well as from various local organosations and networks.

This event will offer all involved a chance to learn, to share, to build skills and to plan, as well as being a unique opportunity to build and renew contacts across and between networks. More information is available – email info@communityenvironment.org.uk

The conference takes place at University College London, near Euston station.

A post-conference social on the 28th will link into ‘Earth Hour’ the global switch-off that will take place that evening.

This map is being developed by the Low Carbon Communities Network the and Mapping for Change for the Communities and Climate Action Alliance.

It lists local organisations and projects as well as larger organisations that can provide assistance to organisations looking to act on climate change. To find a project you can zoom in (use the controls on the top left of the map) and click on the icon you want to know about. A box will appear with full details - some include photos. You can also search the map, and you can turn any of the sets of icons on and off by ticking the box next to the icon.

You can add your project or event to this map. To do that you need to register - click on the Add Content tab for more details. Below the log-in boxes is the invitation to Register: once you complete this process you can send in your information. Content for the map is moderated so this may take two days to be added.
