beds on the go at East Malling

I had a very productive week down on site with much under control, half being turned and even the first as the most important lavender bed started with 40 metres and about a tonne of soil shifted into a neat raised row on the boundary.

Also finally found a source of bulk seeds, veg, fruit, loads of potatoes and even bulk green manures and they also have a brill biodegradable weed membrane made of Corn Starch to try out. They say it will break down in 8 months which should be long enough to get certain things established before the weeds. Though it does seem poor value compared to the thicker geotextile or Spunbond Fabric, or the dreaded plastic sheet, it is only 18gsm.
